The formidable matriarch of the wealthiest family in the country, Lucy is the epitome of generational wealth. She carries herself with style, grace, and authority. She is socially at the top of the food chain, active in politics, and accustomed to moving among the country’s most powerful families and leaders. She can exhibit genuine compassion for those less fortunate, often through philanthropy and charity. Lucy is Ava’s mother and Jonathan’s wife. If Ava was a celebrity, Lucy would be her “momager.” Must have a strong screen presence.

JONATHAN VOX — SUPPORTING

Lucy’s husband and Ava’s father. Jonathan married into the powerful Vox family and is completely at home in its world of extreme wealth, influence, politics, and high society. Affable and polished, he is a proud father and devoted husband who easily navigates the expectations that come with being part of one of the country’s most prominent families. He wears the cooler head when challenges arise, victimizes Ava with “dad jokes,” and is happy to support his wife and daughter as they live the Vox legacy in daily life. Must be able to portray convincing dry humor. He is NOT a doormat.

GUNSTON REED — SUPPORTING

The son of Mayor Gallowyn Reed and Ava Vox’s closest friend, and who comes from a considerably different socioeconomic background. Funny, somewhat awkward, and likable, Gunston occupies the unusual space between his father’s working-class roots and Ava’s wealth and privilege. In every way, he is out of his league.

GALLOWYN REED — SUPPORTING

Mayor and father of Gunston Reed. Gallowyn is a working-class politician operating within a political and social system dominated by people far wealthier and more powerful than himself. His role is more ceremonial than governing, despite his efforts to evolve it more towards the latter. He maintains a tenuous relationship with the people who put him in office and moves within elite political circles while remaining grounded in where he came from.
